Religious Places

1)The main church is dedicated to S.S.Salvatore, it has medieval origin, it is mentioned even in records of 1327.
In part it was restructured 1858, following the draw of Luigi Dau, it has one central nave and it is rich of Baroque stucco. It is conserved a stone holy- water font of 1663, two pictures of ‘700 hanged on the lateral walls in the presbytery , a wood cross of XVI sc., San Biagio and San Germano statues, also antique, a silver professional cross of Neapolitan seventh century, a San Sebastian relic and others things. The artistic organ of 1774 was destroyed in latest 50s.
The stone church tower has a square shape, and it has four windows with one light and three bells. Population cares a lot about their church: they restored it, enriched it, repaired it and adorned over and over again. They bought new ornaments and benches, they also provided a heating system . In this church two saints are celebrated : Grate Madonna and San Sebastian Martyr . Others statues celebrated are Sacro Cuore di Gesù, died Gesù and crucified Gesù, Gesù arising to the sky, Madonna Addolorata, San Giuseppe worker, San Nicola from Bari, Sant’Antonio from Padova. Don Giuseppe Vitacolonna from Guardiagrele is the parish priest from 1977.

2)Church of Madonna delle Grazie, also called Chiesuccia, in Rione Piano.
It is medieval, once was extra moenia, that means out of citizen walls. It was rebuilt in 1949 and restored on several occasion during the following years. It has a flag tower with one bell of 1885. Inside the church it is conserved and venerated also a coloured wood statue of Madonna with Child, of XIV sc. Titled Madonna delle grazie; there are also other saints’ statues such as Madonna Grande, San Giuseppe worker, san Pio from Pietralcina and Santa Rita from Cascia. An artistic coloured stained glass represents Madonna del Carmine.
3) The church of Saint Antony from Padova at Guardiola.
It was built in 1910, consequently to the frequent apparitions in near cave. Destroyed and rebuilt in 1975 by means of local artisan and workers. The tower was built in 1993. It is venerated the statue of homonymous saint.


4)Ruders io the old abbey Benedettian - Augustinian of Sant’Arcangelo in Cornacchiano of Guardiola. The surface (ml 42 x 29.30)is in a pleasant place.
Every 13th of August the citizens of Furci use to go there on pilgrimage, they light votive candles and usually they have Mass said outdoor, as an offer to the wall of the ancient canopy and to those places attended by their fellow citizen and protector Beato Angelo from Furci about in1260.
