Sports, turism, free time and cultural activities
The most popular sport is soccer , after that we have hunting, fishing in the river, sometimes tennis, riding but also walking in the woods, going mushrooming, for example for the moretta, or helvella crispa, the armiriarella, russola, galletto, or the bread mushroom and the black truffle.
In 1925 young men started playing soccer, and then was formed a amateurish team, called “ U.S. Freasana”. the t-shirt colour was garnet red.
They didn’t take part to any championship or tournament they just played with friends, for example singles Vs married, other times they played against other villages’ team, in any religious or civil feast, during spring or summer time.
When they had to play away, they travelled on foot, or at best on mule back.
The soccer ground was in bad condition, it didn’t have any fence, nor changing room, and the goal area didn’t have any net on them.
The first match recorded took place in Palmoli on 26 of July 1928 on the occasion of the foundation of U.S. AUDAX : we lost 4 to 1 , and the only goal was scored by Gino Roberti.
There weren’t enough members in the team, so quite often they had to play in 9. At that time, the players were Paolo Terpolilli, goalie, Giovanni Ottaviano, Giangiacomo, brothers, Leonida Iannone, Tommaso Di Domenico, Eutilio D’Aletto, Antonio Subranni, Antonio Esposito, Gino Roberti, Antonio Valentino D’Aletto called Frinzariello.

In the 40’s, the team was called “Thunderbolt”, and with this name the team took part in tournaments, and they won some. At the end of 60’s, the team Thunderbolt enrolled in the provincial amateur championship of third category, they won some of this championship and they reached the second category. During the last few years, we have found a school for soccer , especially for young, and it has also a team that is giving great satisfactions, even when they play abroad.
Local tourism is not elitist. Who attends our country is a clerk, a city dealer, or the one who has emigrated and from time to time comes back home. Those who are looking for quietness, good air between these hills covered by woods, a rich vegetation of flowers, a lot of kind of animals, in this land that lies among the mountain and the sea.
Here life is good: some of us reached 100 years aged, and Adelina Santulli has the record with 102 years, 5 months and 5 days.
During the summer time, the municipal administration organizes outdoor shows, theatre shows, publishing of a book, interesting conferences about different arguments, and even retrospective exhibitions, as for example the one of objects, environments and pictures about country life civilization, opened on 14 June 2000, with the President of Regional Council, the Mayor, Administrators and citizens of Puttlingen, the German town.
All these exhibitions have the praise of local citizens and there are always many foreign visitors for them.

There are always been typical characters, cherry and well known in our town, but only in1992, a group of people keen of theatre, joined together for their first show.
It was staged a comedy of E. Scarpetta "ARPURT LA VISSORE" (Riporta il tegame), the story, happy and funny gained a big success. They kept on playing comedy every year, such as "MISERIA E NOBILTA' (Poverty and Richness), LU TECCHJIE (The trunk) , LU PRINCIPE (The Prince), CUPIDO SCHERZA E SPAZZA (Cupido plays and sweeps), IL MEDICO DEI MATTI (Doctor of fools), SENZA SOLDI NON SI CANTA MESSA ( Without money they don't say Mess), NAPOLI MILIONARIA (Millionaire Naples),ecc The company took part to many theatrical reviews , and they got many rewards in several towns such as San salvo, Cupello, Monteodorisio, Tufillo, San Buono, Casalanguida, Carunchio, Guilmi e Tavenna.
In the dialect company of Fresa there are actors from our town, people that really loves theatre and completely aware to give happy and funny moments to the public, always very large, expecially on Summer where the stage is outside.
